New logo and Self Portrait
New Logo
I wanted a new and playful logo for my illustration account and for my website and future branding. This one links more with my illustrative style. I still wanted to maintain how my previous one looked. I kept the robins as a reference to my last name and I also kept the flower boarder. However, I did change the colours and style of a few.First attempt at a self portrait
I knew I wanted to have my self portrait with a side profile from the start. This is because I prefer drawing the nose this way. However, when I began to design my self portrait I didn't know what style to do. At first I started off with an outline and experimented with the eye shape. In the first colour experiment I did, I thought it was successful but it didn't suit the style I have now. When I draw animals and people, I hardly ever use an outline so although I liked the outcome, I needed to re draw it with bigger eyes, without an outline and more texture. Thats when I ended up with the next outcome. I liked everything for this apart from the hair. I thought it looked unkept and messy so I redraw this is.
Here's my final attempt at my self portrait. As I mentioned early, I wanted to draw my face on the a side profile as I think this angle is affective. I think this also looks hopeful and proud. The way I used shading and texture in this self portrait, obviously links to my style. I think the hair in this image is effective and I like that I added glasses on to my self portrait too. This is because without the glasses I thought the face looked quite plain and uninteresting. Overall, this is a successful outcome and I will start using this on all of my social media platforms.
