Career Opportunities: 5 Clients- Masters and Teaching
Masters

This MA illustration course for Falmouth is appealing for me as it has the option to be flexible and have online studies. Falmouth is a widely recognised university for its creative studies. This definitely could be an option in the future as I want to stay local but still have the best experiences for myself.
Requirements for a Masters;
BA (Hons) Degree
Personal Statement
Portfolio of Work
Masters at The University of Edinburgh
Similar to the previous MA, I found one dedicated to a storytelling course. It would be in Edinburgh, which isn't as appealing to me as an online university but beginning in person and getting the teaching experience face-to-face would be more appealing to me than online. It would be the best learning experience if I lived in Edinburgh. I also found an Illustration Masters at The University of Edinburgh
Requirements for a Masters;
2:1 or above, BA (Hons) Degree

Portfolio of Work: includes observational drawing, colour, line, composition, idea development, awareness of narrative image-making and sequential image-making, awareness of print and applications of digital media, awareness of the professional practice and the cultural context of historical and contemporary illustration.
Teaching
PGCE- Postgraduate Certificate in Education. It is the most popular academic qualification for teaching. Prepares students for life as a teacher.
QTS- is a legal requirement to teach in many English schools. Required as a teacher in state schools under local authority control and in special education schools.
To be a primary/secondary school teacher I need at least 5 GCSEs (including English, Maths and Science) 2-3 A levels, a degree in any subject for a postgraduate course.
This is an interesting Postgraduate course I found. The biggest positive is it's a PGCE with a QTS, so it has both courses and I could pursue a career in teaching while being a freelance illustrator. Both aspects of this is what I’d love to do in the future. As my passion is to help and from a young age I have always wanted to become a teacher, this would be a perfect opportunity for my goals in the future.
It would also be local so I wouldn't have to move to a different city. And to help myself achieve this I will start offering to volunteer in schools and high schools next year.
The requirements is to get a 2:2 or above and I believe I will achieve that by the end of the year.
I have always wanted to teach in primary school, so this course is a highly likely option. I love the idea of inspiring children to become more aware of their opportunities and how they are as a person too.
